Namibia and beginning "Senior Training"

 Here we are at the airport as we finally arrive in Namibia

 Before leaving Johannesburg, I asked if I should take an umbrella - they said no it hasn't rained in Namibia for quite a while, as we get off the plane (and you have to walk to the terminal) it was raining.  If they only knew how blessed they would be if they would allow more missionaries in.  We came with President and Sister Wilson, us, and two more missionaries.

 On our return to the airport we found these baboons sitting on this metal post (comfortable)!

 Stopped to get gas right outside the airport in Namibia, this is a sign, notice the dirt road, though it was funny.

 We are now going on a game drive for our "Senior Training", this one happened to be the night drive.  You see different animals, but you can't take any pictures because it is too dark.

 This was on the game drive the next day, these are cape buffalo and we were able to see many, quite the animal

 All the couples in our mission,  Far left President and Sister Wilson, us, The Campbell's who will be leaving in another month, the Gublers who will be leaving, in September, and the Halls who got here in February.

 This tree is thousands of years old, there is one just outside the park they figure is 6000 years old.

 "Could not resist taking a picture of Elder Basima as we entered the airport.  He was on his way home to Botswana and we were on our way to Namibia.  He was so fun to have around.  We will miss him greatly."

" While in Namibia we visited the flats making minor repairs.  Here is a picture of the famous toilet seat.  It was broken so we picked up a new one but I just had to have a picture to remember it by.  This was a couples flat."

" We traveled to Namibia and I was told I just had to visit the body shop.  I have spoken with them on the phone but never seen the establishment.  I just had to take pictures.  This car had front end damage and as I arrived with the two missionaries we found it was being washed.  I took a picture of the car but really wanted you to see the surroundings."

 "I have been looking for some time trying to get a picture of the fast food delivery service.  McDonalds and KFC are two of many that deliver by motorbike."

Trip to Botswana

" Look at this sign, you see one about every 15 miles, they are telling you that a "rest stop" is coming up in 1 km.  Their rest stop consists literally of 1 tree and a cement picnic table.  A picture of the "rest stop is a couple of pictures below."

 "We encountered 5 of these police stops on our way from Gaborone to Francistown, most of the time they just wave you through.  However on our way back we were stopped and asked for our drivers license, they are not use to seeing American Drivers Licenses."

" In this picture you will notice the animals on the side of the road, as we have mentioned before, they are all over in Botswana, and you do not want to drive at night for this very reason.  These happen to be a herd of goats, but we encountered herds of cattle all over."

 "They call Botswana the bush country, so I took a picture so you can see what they are talking about, this is pretty much the view from Gaborone to Francistown, Botswana"

Big Five Game Reserve

" I'm sure you are all going to think that all we do is go on Game Drives - not true.  On the 12th of March we went to one that was called The Big Five Game Reserve.  They have what is called the big five which are the Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and the Cape Buffalo.  We saw none of them unfortunately, still waiting to see each of them.  Hopefully when we go to Kruger National Park in April, we will get our chance.  In the meantime we keep taking pictures of the same animals, although I want to get pictures of new animals, they are all incredible to see up close.   Just sent a couple of movies to Angie to share with everyone."
